Exercising is so important, it not only ensures that you stay fit and look young, but it also keeps you motivated and helps you stay up and on your own. My dad used to say ” Our body is a machine, the more you keep it moving, the more it shines”. I now find his words so true when i compare myself against other colleagues of same age who often find walking up the stairs a big challenge whereas i usually find myself walking up the stairs with ease.

This article describes 3 ways which i often use to ensure that i am exercising even if i dont have time to visit the gym or go for long walks in morning or evenings.

1.) Ensure that you make friend with the stairs

If you work in a building which has stairs and elevators both, try taking the stairs when you have to the floors upstairs. Going up the stairs might make you get to the upper floor bit longer, but believe me you will be burning quite some fat while you walk up. I am sure, you can do this atleast once in day if not always.

2.) Suck your stomach in  ( known as Kapalbhati Pranayam in Yoga)

In Yoga, it is known as a Kapalbhati Pranayam, in this exercise, you need to suck your stomach in and out. You can do this while working as well. Just suck in your stomach for five minutes of time throughout the day. This is a proven technique and many men and women have benefited from it and have have even lost weight doing this.

3.) Do some housework

If you are someone who stays in the house, doing some house chores is a good way of burning some extra calories and staying fit.Try to set aside thirty minutes a day to vacuum, dust and sweep. You’ll be getting a good workout and you’ll be getting your heart rate up. Getting a heart rate up is the most important step for losing weight and ensuring that your metabolism rate goes up.

These are the three ways i recommend to anyone who doesnt have enough time for the gym but would still like to ensure staying fit and healthy.

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by exposure to asbestos. Some notes on Diagnostics and Recovery from Mesothelioma

It must be noted that initial diagnosis of Mesothelioma is carried out through X-rays and is then followed by a biopsy of open lung to confirm the test results. If Mesothelioma causing cancerous cells are diagnosed at an early stage, cancer can be removed surgically and full recovery can be later done through chemotherapy and radiation treatment. 

In case of an advanced stage, Mesothelioma is generally incurable. However,a treatment including mix of Chemotherapy, Radiation therapy, pain relieving treatments are known to relatively increase the span of life of the patient. Also, it must be understood that the effect of these treatments and the period of survival in terms of life span depends on the stage at which Mesothelioma was diagnosed and other general health and fitness condition.

Microsoft has announced a dip in its revenue  and earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter ending March 31st. Its for the fist time in 23 years that Microsoft has seen a drop in revenue. 

The Redmond, Wash.-based company said sales fell 6% from a year earlier to $13.7 billion, missing analysts’ expectations of $14.1 billion.

Meanwhile, the company’s net income fell 32% to $2.98 billion, or 33 cents per share, in its third quarter ended March 31.

Definitely the year hasn’t come with any good news for Microsoft. The company had earlier laid off  1,400 people in January and as per the estimates, 3,600 more will lose their jobs by mid-2010.

The company has had a difficult time combating slumping demand for its Windows operating system, as the economic slowdown has dragged PC sales down 7% to 9%, according to Microsoft’s estimates. The latest craze for Netbooks is also certainly not helping Microsoft, though they do mostly come with Windows XP, which is relatively cheaper as compared to other Microsoft OS , Vista ( which certainly was a disaster) and thus generates less income. Microsoft is now betting largely on the release of Windows 7, its new operating system ( which is expected to be released by late 2009).

Inflation for the week-ended April 11 has come in at 0.26% compared to 0.18% week-on-week (WoW). Earlier Reserve Bank of India had cut Repo and Reverse Repo rates by 0.25% .

2.) Dead-Links.com : Dead-Links is another website which you can use to crawl and find dead links. In order to start, Enter your website or weblog home page URL in the input box available on the website spider will read the html code and check for the broken links. Dead-Link’s spider splits links in two categories, internal, from the same host, and external, outgoing link to different domains. Once you have put your start URL the bot will visit your website and follow all links checking for their status. When finish you will see a report showing all the bad links found, not only 404 status. 

The spider has a limit of 25 pages per domain and 150 external documents with a maximum execution time of 15 minutes. Its also important to note that the spider doesn’t crawl links inside frames or javascript or flash.

Adobe has got serious about Flash Support for the television and has announced that the software will soon be supported by “set-top boxes, Blu-ray players and other devices  which usually form part of your digital living room. In short, Adobe Flash is all set to conquer your Television.

With the support for Adobe Flash coming on to the set-top boxes, blu-ray players and other such devices, consumers will now be able to watch HD Web videos via the Flash Video (FLV) file format on their TVs, without the need for a web browser. Until recently, devices like VuNow were making this happen for you.

Adobe’s Flash support for Television and connected devices could mean TVs being used for many of the tasks now given over to a computer or laptop, such as using a search engine, online maps, and consuming all manner of digital content.

Adobe has signed up video delivery service Netflix, Disney and the New York Times to make the first batch of applications.

The first applications using Flash are expected to hit TV sets early in 2010.

Oracle has finally declared that it will be buying Sun Microsystems for $9.5 per share. The transaction is valued at approximately $7.4 billion, or $5.6 billion net of Sun’s cash and debt.
